Across Germany you will find 4 Motorworlds currently. Munich(Munchen), Cologne(Koln), Berlin and Stuttgart. They all follow the same principle. Large building of industrial finish, a collection of automotive based companies, food & drink and cars! Depending on which one you visit will determine which manufacturers and suppliers you get to see. For example, at the Munich Motorworld you have Bugatti and McLaren, Cologne was Lotus and Stuttgart had Lamborghini. Split across 3 partially connected buildings, Stuttgart has the V8 Hotels (car themed hotel rooms), Lamborghini service centre and then their storage and sales area.
Due to how our week planned out, we were only ever able to get to Stuttgart in the late evening which meant it was predominantly shut but the good old folks at Motorworld keep the doors and partial lights on til gone 8 so you can walk around at your own pace. With not many dealerships to see this was the certainly the more sparse of the Motorworlds we visited although inside the glass chambers held some very impressive cars including:
2 x Mercedes-Benz AMG ONEs
Ferrari F40
Ferrari Enzo
Porsche 911 ST
Lamborghini SVJ
2 x Porsche Carrera GTs
A range of Mercedes-Benz Black Series cars
A range off DTM cars
Things to know before you go:
Hours suggest 7.30am – 10pm. We went twice at 9pm. Once the doors were open and the other time it was locked. Of course, the later you go the less things are open as well. I would suggest going between 10am-8pm
Stuttgart is known as the “cradle of the automobile”. There are dealerships located on the outskirts of Motorworld (walking distance) and Porsche and Mercedes-Benz are just up the road. You could easily do all three in one day.
It is free to enter MOTORWORLD Region Stuttgart and no tickets are required. There is security walking around, but they are not there to intimidate you. There is parking which costs. We did park around the back but towing was suggested on many signs.
There are many restaurants at MOTORWORLD Region Stuttgart including a Bavarian restaurant located next to Lamborghini which had its own brewery and behind the back of Motorworld are a few more independent options. These weren’t busy and quite expensive for a quick dinner. McDonalds was 5 minutes down the road.
Stuttgart is an industrial city which means after 5pm you will find it very quiet and not much tourist things to do. I would suggest staying only 1 night and move on to Dusseldorf or Munich.
Does it have replay value? I would suggest not. I would only go out of my way to revisit if I was going with people who had never been before.
